Carbonfiber parts missmatch?

Anyone know if I would have any problems with combining original carbonfiberparts from ducati with aftermarketparts, or maby different aftermarketparts?

What I mean is, is there a chance they wont match in looks. That carbon patterns in the products from different vendors varies from product to product so that they dont look good togeather?

I'm getting a carbon bellypan, carbon rear mudguard and carbon timing belt covers. I was thinking about bying from different people on ebay and I  dont want the above mentioned to be the case.

Anyone?

Hey Stian (fellow Norwegian [thumbsup]) Welcome to the DMF!

You're on to something - could end up not looking too good. I think, buy from the same manufacturer to have identical finishes.

(if you install google tool bar, you'll have a spell check button ;))

EDIT: get the mudguard/rear fender that follows through to cover the whole swingarm - so much better for protection of the rear shock
Also check this before ordering a belly pan http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=10466.0

Yes there is a high likelihood that your CF parts will mismatch.  DP parts are notorious for this. Buying separates is a guarantee for different finishes.  Chances are though that you're the only person who will ever notice.  If the parts have a good clear finish on them you can just make sure they are clean and shiny at all times distracting anyone from any apparent differences (unless they're reallly different).

Ducati uses several suppliers so the finish will be different on different parts from Ducati. Most definitely the finish will be different from other producers as well.

The best thing to do if you really want your carbon to match is buy the same weave on all parts then take everything to get clear coated at the painter. You'll be pretty close then.
