okay oracles of wisdom... I've had my .22 Ruger six shooter for as long as I can remember (which ain't sayin much) but I've never tried to clean the powder burns off it.  I haven't fired it in years and years and it's in great condition except for the few powder burn marks on the cylinder.  I gave a few attempts at squirting it with Balistol and rubbing them off but it only got a little bit cleaner.  Any suggestions?

I clean my wife's nickel .357 with Hoppes #9.  It works real good.

I use a "lead away" cloth from Kleen Bore.  It works great on the cylinder of my shiny revolver.
