You probably said something about soul while snobbishly raising your nose and sipping on an apple-tini.

That's how they always spot me, too.

I don't know what the hell I look like (skinny jeans, mostly always black t shirts, stretched ears, my hair is usually always well kept and short with a kind of longer mohawk tail going on in the back, quite a few tattoos, I guess I do know what I look like) but my girlfriend says the bike suits me the most out of all the bikes I've owned (sport bikes, harley etc.). I take that as a compliment, I wouldn't make the beast with two backs with my bike if it was sitting in my seat at the bar.

Maybe it was just a lucky guess?  She's clearly a gold digger and was hoping you owned a Duck to size you up.  Run while you still can.

I was in Newport Beach sitting at the bar of an expensive steak house...  I think thats what it was... I'm 210, 6 foot, shaved head, jeans and shirt wearer, so I stand out in the man-blouse wearing crowd that goes there.  I'm there for the steaks.

I was in a bar chatting up a girl when the topic of transportation came up.  Mentioned I had a motorcycle and her response was "I bet it's a Ducati".  So I started to wonder, what do we look like?  What is it about us that says he/she owns a Ducati and not a Harley (as is very common where I live) or a Japanese bike?  And no I wasnt wearing my moto gear or have my Duc keys out....

Did you ride to the bar?

And no I wasnt wearing my moto gear or have my Duc keys out....

Maybe it is more simple than you think.  Not so much how you looked but maybe she saw your bike and put the 2 and 2 together

Latinbalar hit it square on the head.

She chatted with you - then she knew you rode a ducati.

We all look different - there is no ducati look that identifies us.  We're intelligent, articulate, and have fallen hopelessly in love with the damned things....  Ducatis are.  they just are.  they don't have, they're busting with character - just like us!!

Nope, was on four wheels that night.  Planned on a couple of  drink and doing that on the  [moto] would have caused this  bang head or this  Police

Lauramonster, I think you're right.  Not so much a look but an attitude and presence...

Or maybe it is a bar that you both frequent; she has seen you ride to the bar; fell in love over your duc (I mean, who wouldnt fall for a duc) and has been patiently waiting to chit chat; manipulating the conversation so that "bike" speak would come up, "deduce" (while impressing you) that you ride a Duc; and now plans and waits for you to give her a ride on your MONSTER.

Maybe...maybe....
