I can't wait for the race, but the trip there will be amazing!  I'm leaving Thursday morning and have a route that will run me from nyc>pa>west virginia>kentucky>indy and pull in Saturday sometime.  There are some amazing roads, wish I had a camera.

Sounds like a great route!!!   [moto]

Kodak still makes disposable cameras.  They aren't fancy, but aleast you could take some pictures.  Your film developer should be able to give you digital copies on CD when you have the cameras developed.

Okay, question for Project Mugello ticket holders...

In the parking info on www.ducatiisland.com, the first thing said is "the motorcycle parking pass that came with your Mugello Grandstand ticket is not a Ducati Island Parking Pass."

Jobu and I just scored Mugello tickets on ebay, but there was no mention of parking passes in the auction listing.

Did you all get passes with your tickets?  If so what do they look like, so I can look for them in the picture in the auction listing.

Thanks folks.

Mario can probably tell you, since he has the package.

Almost looks like, if there was parking, it would be a strip like all the other vouchers on the right.

I wouldn't worry about a parking pass, there are plenty of places to park at the speedway

the non-ducati island moto parking passes are 2 serialized wristbands, one for the bike, and one for your wrist.

Rameses,

Here is the info you need to get your Ducati Island parking passes.

Hope this helps.  See you at the Duc Indy Open House.

 [moto]

PARKING INFORMATION

IMPORTANT:

Mugello Grandstand Ticket Holders—The motorcycle parking pass that came with your Mugello Grandstand ticket is not a Ducati Island Parking Pass.

Please note that a Ducati key is no longer proof of ownership, you must bring your current Ducati registration or insurance and picture ID.

Please carefully read through the information and guidelines below in order to guarantee proper use of your parking pass and a smooth trip to the track and the Island.

GENERAL INFORMATION & GUIDELINES:

Ducati Island parking passes will be a wristband attached to the helmet chin bar.

Only Ducatis can park on the Island and in the Ducati Island overflow parking.

You must have a parking band to park on the Island but a parking band does not necessarily guarantee you a spot on the Island. There are a limited number of parking spots available on the Island and in the overflow parking and they are given on a first-come, first-served basis with a valid parking pass. If Ducati Island parking is full you may park in the Ducati overflow lot. If the overflow lot is full you will be responsible for your own alternative parking arrangements.

You do not need additional parking passes to access the Island. All you need is a valid Ducati Island parking pass AND an event ticket to the Indianapolis GP.

HOW TO OBTAIN A DUCATI ISLAND PARKING PASS:

Parking passes will be distributed at Ducati Indianapolis at 4629 Northwestern Drive, Zionsville, IN from 4-7pm on Thursday, September 11 during their Open House. If all parking passes are not distributed on Thursday, the remainder will be available at the dealership from 8-10am on Friday, September 12.

Directions to Ducati Indianapolis: From Indianapolis Speedway, take I-465 North, take the exit toward I-465 East / US-52 East, keep right at the fork as you follow signs for I-465 East and merge onto I-465 East / US-52 East. After about 2 miles on I-465 East / US-52 East, take exit 27 for US-421 North / Michigan Road, turn left at North Michigan Road then turn left at Northwestern Drive. More information about Ducati Indianapolis can be found here.

A Ducati motorcycle key is no longer proof of ownership, you must bring your current Ducati registration or insurance and picture ID with you to obtain Ducati Island Parking passes and Ducati Island hospitality access.

One parking pass per owner.

The pass must be picked up in person.

Parking passes are valid for all three days of the race weekend.

Ducati Island parking passes are NOT for sale. They are available at no cost to those meeting the required criteria on a first-come, first-served basis.
ONSITE PARKING GUIDELINES:

Parking passes should be attached to the helmet chin strap prior to the arrival at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Your parking pass attached to your chin strap will allow officials to point you in the right direction and allow you access into the Island. To ease traffic flow, please make sure it's visible at all times while on access roads while entering the track.

Please look for Ducati Island volunteers to help direct you to Ducati parking.

If you arrive at Ducati Island and the Island is full or closed you should not try and park on the Island. If Island parking is closed or full we have arranged for a Ducati overflow parking area towards which you will be directed. If the Island is closed and you do park on the Island without direction, you may be blocking a fire/emergency lane and your bike will be removed.

If the overflow lot is full you will be responsible for your own alternative parking arrangements.

We cannot replace lost or stolen parking bands.

Ducati North America and Indianapolis Motor Speedway have the right to retract any parking passes issued for any reason.

Please do not contact Indianapolis Motor Speedway or Ducati Indianapolis for information.

It's critical that everyone work with Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Ducati North America staff and volunteers to make this process happen as smoothly as possible. We look forward to celebrating with you on Ducati Island!

Yeah, that's what I was looking for in the pics, but since I hadn't seen them in Grifo's pic that Cyrus quoted above, or any of the others I'd seen, I was wondering if there was some alternate form of pass that was included with the package.

Mario can probably tell you, since he has the package.

That's what I was thinking too, maybe a voucher to pick up the wristbands somewhere once you get there...

So you think there'll be moto parking close to the track available without a pre-purchased pass?

Yeah, the first line of that was what I was quoting...

Problem is, I won't be able to make it up there until Friday night (possibly Friday morning), so I won't be at the open house to get Duc Island parking passes.  If they still have some left Friday morning, and I can make it up there in time, that'd be great, but I just wanna make sure I have my bases covered for non-Duc Island parking in case that doesn't happen.

Somebody said it's the hotel immediately across the street from Duc Indy, right?

Yeah man, there is motorcycle parking (free) inside the track.

go to the speedway's website and browse around about parking info. You have to get there early, though, as it fills up fast.

and yeah, that hotel is right across the street or close by the Duc Dealer, so I guess that would be 116th and Michigan
