So here is my situation.

Three months ago i hit a cat on my m900. I broke my femur and tore ligaments in my knee. I had to have knee surgery to re assemble my knee and get out all the infected tissue.

My family is having a hard time at the moment so im paying for all my own medical costs. A little over 2 grand at the moment. Im 19 and paying for my living expenses with an 8$ an hour job. Im living with a friend at the moment and working on the bike every now and again.

Once my knee heals im going directily into the Marines.

HERE IS MY QUESTION

Does anyone have any 749 or 999 rear suspension components they could let go of cheaply?

I have a crazy under engine suspension on the drawing board, but i would like to have a rolling chassis before i leave for basic training.

When i get out of the marines i will have money to put into the bike to finish my build.

ANYONE HAVE ANY PARTS??

Thanks everyone!!!

Damn, shouldda gotten to my thread earlier. I had a 749 shock for $60. Sad

Good Luck with the Marines. But make sure your knee is fully healed. Its like a huge running club, and you'll be pretty pissed if your knee gives out in the middle of bootcamp.

There is a 999 showa on ebay right now. However I am pretty much all over it, but if you need it that badly, just let me know so we dont have a bidding war.

btw, Basic training = Army waytogo

Not to put a damper on your hopes, but you may want to talk to your doc about the feasibility of joining the Marines after an injury like that. A broken femur is a pretty significant injury. Also, depending on the severity of your knee injury, running may not be an option for you and if you can run, you're not likely to qualify for any military service...
