Just got my 08' S4rs on saturday!!!! Best/Most Fun Bike i have ever ridden. I bought it used so it already has a full Termi exhaust and ECu upgrade, Open clutch cover, red pressure plate, and CRG levers. The next thing that i want to do is get rid of the ugly plastic tail end. I looked into chopping it all off but for some reason i cant come to terms with cutting off the end of the frame. I know i can just get rid of the plastic and get a carbon fiber part for it instead and integrate the blinkers into the break light. What do you think i should do? Are there any options that i don't know of yet? Also is there anything else that anyone knows of to do to the bike thats not too over the top?

Congrats on the RS waytogo I like my DP CF tail...like you, I didn't want to chop the frame. As for other mods, there are endless things you can do. Why don't you post some pics and we can give you some advice?

waytogo  Very cool! An RS with bling. Saved a little green there. If you really need to ask, " Chop it!"

I chopped mine, but thats what I wanted. Take your time and think about it. Everyone has an opinion, but what do you want? My bike, my choice. Your bike, your choice. Huh? I`m sure this really, really helped. Grin Ya right.

Check out all the similar bikes you can for a while, patience grasshopper, when the time is right you`ll know.

I think about chopping my tail about once a day on my RS. But I live in Washington and I need my fender. I'm getting the CF kit soon.

i vote CHOP.....but then again i just finished my chop 10 minutes ago so i could be bias!!! (seriously). i had NO PROBLEM taking that ugly thing off and picking up a 4 dollar hacksaw and going to town, then again i don't have an 08' s4, but i don't think i'd have a problem if i did. if you like the chop look over everything else THEN DO IT. if your not because of resale purposes or something that's just crazy.....and if it's because you scared of messing up don't worry cause i'm the most ducati illiterate person on or off here and i think i did great job and looks like a beauty (1000% better than pre-choppy). i say chop if you want it......you only live once.

When I first got my bike I wanted to remove the beer holder....now I rarely think about it and doesn't bother me in the least.

Don't be a sissy, it's an ugly eye sore that must be removed.  I don't call it a beer tray...it's a melanoma.

Have a drink:

Chop it off:

Notice the excitement as it's about to finally be gone:

Reap the sweetness (and now go shorten your cans up too like the pic) :

A few other mods, see my thread (search S4RT)

Rain?  Seriously?  If you ride in the rain, you're going to get wet from rain hitting you head on.  I've noticed nothing spraying up on my back as some claim when removing the rear melanoma

the aluminum tag brackets on mine are finished in mate black, not silver....
much less obtrusive, IMHO.....

I've got that same tag bracket thingy.  PO installed it at the dealer.  I uninstalled it and chopped the tail a few hours after the bike came home for good.

It's FS if you want it, PM me.

Dude I feel your pain. I bought the kit and sat on it for a couple months before I could work up the nerve to chop her. Don't regret it one bit. Even in the rain. She's so hot now with her ass out.
