Race cams

I have an 08' S2R 1K and will be doing the exhaust/ECU mod this fall. I am curious to whether anyone has swapped the cams and if the performance increase is worth it? Also, thinking of doing the flywheel as well. I figure that if its going in for breath right operation that I might as well give it new lungs and a heart transplant. Not that I am unhappy with the stock power, but can never get enough.

I have the DP cams in my S2R1K. The ones I have are designed for the Hypermotard but they work in the 1000DS motors as well.

I bought them as part of the kit with the ECU and had less than favorable results using the HM DP ECU. I ended up selling the ECU and using the cams. The best part is I found the kit on Ebay for $395 and then sold the ECU for over $400 so I basically got the cams for free.

Even if I had to pay for the cams I would say it's definately worth the price of admission.

No experience with the 800, but in the 900 motors, cams & compression are TERRIFIC mods. However, there's a big difference between cams, I've used VeeTwo in the past (they make several grinds) but with the exchange rate, they've gotten pretty pricey.

I have a M900Sie 2001 ,heads done
I read somewere that the 2001 cams are very good (almost the same as the ST2 cams)
I am thinking about putting some hi comps in when it gets his next service
What would it bring ,and which hi comps should i buy
