Upside Down Canuck

« on: September 20, 2008, 01:39:58 AM »

I made it!

The SO, dogs, and me have all finally arrived.  It has been about 10 months in the making but I am now a resident of your fine country.
It was a crazy process getting here (esp. bringing the dogs in). Lots and lots of hurdles. But none to high for my substantial jumping abilities.   laughingdp

I'll get into the process later but just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped. Now all I need is a bike.
As some of you may know my beloved duc and I were hit by a car in Canada about a month ago. I just have to wait for the whole insurance process to go through then I will pick up a monster here.

So cheers Australia.  chug  You poor bastards are now stuck with me.  Grin

Welcome SKOM to Australia.  Am I correct to assume that you have decided to call Adelaide home? If so whereabouts mate?  I am in Adelaide and will buy you a beer or two etc.

Welcome to our wide brown land SKOM.

Just a couple of words of warning:
1.  South Australians are called "Crow Eaters".  Don't know why but I suggest that you be careful what you eat until you find out. popcorn bacon
     Pie floaters are OK though.
2.  Wines from the Barossa Valley north east of Adelaide are so good that you're likely to give up beer and join the chardonnay set. Vino!
3.  Don't support an Adelaide footy team unless you have absolutely no desire to travel outside of South Oz.
4.  Don't under any circumstances go to the bank at Snowtown.

If anyone has anything further to add to this list to help our new Australian settle in feel free.

Good call, in Adelaide you'll usually find the Coopers is more pure than the tap water as well!

big (and you can't roll the tap water along the bar to stir up the sediment either!)
