Rob, sorry to hear mate. Hope the claim goes thru OK. I'm still reassembling my bike after the great ar$e-rusting-out-of-the-tank fiasco. Got the new tank back from the painters, and now into reassembly. Hanging to go for a ride, and was going to give you a call once it is running again  Cry

Most welcome mate. Keep us informed of how you go please.

The tank, well, the short version is it had some rust in the bottom of the tank around the hinge. When I went to treat the rust, it turned out to be more widespread and basically the whole area around the hinge perforated to the piont of looking like swiss cheese. Lots of ringing around, and searching this and other forums revealed this is a very common problem with the injected supersport model ducs like mine.  I looked into lots of repair options, from welding a new arse in the tank to full replacement with new or even a carbon fibre unit from the US. In the end I settled on a second hand tank from a crashed very late mnodel supersport, which was an easy repair, had it treated with a lining process and repainted to match my bike. A bloke in Dapto did the work - took his time, but highly recommended for quality of work. Part of the fun of owning Italian, I suppose  Undecided

* FOR SALE *

- 2 x Pair of Clear Lens Blinkers for a Monster (Clear Alternatives)

- 1 x Clear Taillight for a Monster (Clear Alternatives)

Asking $30/pair for the Lens Blinkers and $45 for the taillight.

I ordered some clear blinker lenses and a clear taillight for my Monster 620 from Clear Alternatives a few months ago (to which they advised me they were out of stock so I cancelled the order). In the meantime I sourced them from somewhere else but Clear Alternatives has cocked up and sent me my order 6 months later (and subsequntly charged my credit card) so I now have 4 clear lens blinkers and a clear taillight (can't remember if its an LED one or not) brand new and unopened.
Anyway I'm asking cost price, if theres no interest over the weekend i'm going to have to deal with the PITA of shipping it back to the US and getting a refund.

My mistake, globes are included.

The clear taillight lens is pretty much sold pending payment/delivery etc.

Still for sale:

4 clear blinker lenses WITH 4 clear globes that flash amber.

Also have:

4 amber blinker lenses WITH 4 clear globes that flash clear (ducati OEM ones)

1 x standard red monster taillight lens with clear globe

1 x LED circuit board for the rear taillight (board only, no lens)

It has to be done.

Bike is racking up the clicks and I don't want it to get too many. I can't afford a car & a bike at the moment & riding home from work the other day when it was absitively posalutely pissing down was not a pleasant experience. Just looking at those pricks all cosy in their cars made me want to make the beast with two backsen puke!

make the beast with two backs it, it's gotta go. And when I can afford it, hopefully sooner rather than later, I'll be back in teh saddle. And the little CB project bike should keep me busy for a little while.

Maybe I should buy an R1. I heard they are relatively cheap.  cheeky

***SOLD***

I have available a set of black front Brembo four spot calipers and master cyl off a Multi - includes caliper pads, bolts, fittings, stainless lines (only thing missing is half the clamp to bolt the master cyl to the bar).  Came off a dropped low K's Multi so the ball on the end of the brake handle has a 'ground down' section.  Calipers themselves great cond - just some minor cosmetic scratches.

They would be a great upgrade for anyone with the 2 piston calipers - ie later 620's, 695, S2R800 etc (I think the S2R1000's used these calipers)
They're now on ebay (starting at $295) but I will consider offers - here's some pics:
