?

Hmm, I have no problem doing it.  Flounders, can you check and make sure the settings are correct for general users?  (sorry Kopf, I only have geek access)

The permissions all seem to be set so it can be changed.

It should work.

I am having the same problem. My avatar disappeared, and I cannot upload another one. When I try, it posts

"The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved."

I have tried to link to an avatar that I have hosted, and nothing shows up. The one that I have hosted is 80x80, and only around 9k

The linked avatar should be working fine.  At least it is for everyone else it seems.  I just changed permissions on the attachments folder, so try and upload again and see if that works.

I just tested the upload functionality and it seems to be working now. Please post up with your results.
