Had a neighbor... I was about 19 the... that had an alarm that was so sensitive, that a strong breeze was enough to ripple the convertable top, and set it off. :bang So, as any self respecting neighbor would do, I got a box of tennis balls, and every time he'd go back inside after checking his beloved car, I'd nail one off the bumper and set it off again. Never gave him more than 10 minutes' rest between strikes. :e:v
After about 2 days of this, he finally got so fed up, he switched it off. Funny thing is, none of the other neighbors ratted me out to him. Guess they figured out what I was up to, and just let it ride. ;:|
Man, it's a good thing we didn't grow up together!! We would have been in juvey togther for eggin each other on to do stuff like this!! :e:v

Happens all the time... Makes one wonder if anyone even looks when a car alarm goes off anymore -- is it really an anti-theft device after all?

I get 5-6 alarms every time I ride around SF. The Monster seems to get more of them than the Supersport, but they both make overly-sensitive alarms cry for mercy mo:t:
Always make me giddy when we're riding 2-up.
It's even funnier when DQ does it in parking garages to see how many he can get at once. ;:| Lots of bikes go by my apartment building every day but I can always pick out the Monster/Supersport from a block away.

The first time i set off a "chirp" was when i pulled into my girl's apt complex. The driver of the car had just gotten out a few seconds before i pulled into the spot next to his car and he was walking away about 20 feet ahead. He swings around and gives me a nasty glare like i just hit his car. The next morning, it chirped again... his alarm was blaring by the time my bike warmed up and i left, with a big smile.

Yes. I live on the industrial side of Berkeley and my g/f and I woke up one night to an alarm chirp, a few seconds of silence, another chirp, silence, chirp, etc. We went to the window and saw two car thieves trying to get through the window of a car. Eventually the chirping intervals increased with their constant poking and they got spooked and ran.
That particular alarm seemed to be set up just fine! wt:

I remember on my old 620 with the dp pipes I'd set off alarms going down the street. That was fun.

Neither the Wolf exhaust or the Two Brothers would set off a car alarm but i got/get lots of chirps out of them. In the old days when i used to work at an airbase, the F15's would always set off alarms when the would take off. They look cool at night you can really see the After burner flames good.
