Hey,

I know I've seen some options on here before, but I couldn't find the license plate illuminator option that basically was two thumb screw LEDs that would light the plate up., alternatively, if anyone is using another better option or knows how I can use the original plate illuminator housing i would appreciate the input. I am using the cookie kit if that helps any......

I just put some of the bolt/LED combos on my chop and I get a lot of compliments on them.  Easy to install and really light up the plate.  I love howthe bright white contrasts with the red from the brake light.

I picked up some of these for my SS at Cycle Gear's last everything-in-the-store sale:

Haven't installed them yet, but the package has some kind of battery in it so you can see them light up.  They seem to put out plenty of light.

I'll install them if I ever get around to buying the TPO fender eliminator for the Supersport...

A Buell tail light works and has a clear plastic bottom that illuminates the plate. No need for additional illumination.

Got a set of LEDs from Jeff at Monsterparts, they go inside the original housing, no more problems of blowing bulbs due to vibrations, took about 20 mins to install.

Did you have to set up a resistor?

I just used my dremel to cut a rectangular hole in the bottom of my taillight, and super-glued a piece of clear lexan from the inside.  my plate is directly under the taillight and this lights it up perfectly with white light instead of red (required to pass inspection, apparently).

No, just wired it in, and off it went, The destructions advised a resistor was not required.
