No info on engine restrictions other than 4 stroke, 4 cylinder, 600cc.

Seems like that's going to be rather expensive...

We've discussed it before, but what's a no-limits 600 engine going to put down? 150HP?

And 125's are at, what, 50HP?

That's quite a jump...

Production based?

the rumor/theory has always been production based w/ zero or nearly zero engine mods.  which is really weird for a 'prototype' series, but whatever..

either way i'm pretty sure it won't be a go-crazy class.  they'd end up being too close to the 800s.  and too expensive.

I agree there.  A full prototype 600 class will be very close to what the 800 guys are running.  I'd imagine they'll keep the engines toned down.

the original statement some time ago was basically showroom engines w/ zero mods, unlimited chassis and suspension, electronics

What a shame. If they spent the money this switch would take on cleaning up the 2 strokes instead...

I'd have preferred the 450 single super lights myself but that wouldn't have made Honda happy so...

they've already been given.

"4-stroke, 4-cylinder maximum, 600cc maximum engines."

you wanna run a 600cc single, twin, triple.. go for it.

It's pretty clever how they managed to disenfranchise every manufacturer in the world except the Jap big 4 with one sentence isn't it?
Now if only our government could write legislation that concise. bang head
