I am curious, When the cover is in place (bolted onto the engine) how much clearance is between the Cover and the belts?

I want to put a fine mesh in mine, but I wasn't sure if it will fit between the cover and the belts.

How do you keep the screen on? Is there some heat resistant glue?

The screening is TPO Hyperscreen.  It is tough and super thin.  I had planned on using pop rivets, but the guy I ordered the screen from said I should give the epoxy that was included a try first and that I would be surprised.  He was right.  I overlapped the screening by about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch where available.  Followed the directions with the epoxy and it worked great.

Clearance with mine was tight.  I had to take my tin snips and remove a small piece of the screening around all three pulleys.  It isn't noticable, but would be if the screen was painted, which TPO advertises as paintable.  I have wondered what they would look like black.

what do you guys use to cut out the 'windows' in the covers?  This is something on my list but not something I want to do by trial and error.

Also, ditto on how did you attach the screens?  I've got my own ideas, but wondering what you had success with.

I did all of my cutting with a dremel tool and a bunch of file work.  Takes a while, but you get some good edges. 

Hey Psycledelic:  is that the Zero Gravity ST windscreen on your bike?  It looks great.  How do you like it?  I may get something like that for the winter months...

I did mine over the summer.   I used a hole saw attached to a drill press for the....er.. round holes.

And I used a rotozip bit on the drill press sliding the cover by hand to make the cut outs.  Very minimal sanding was needed.  I do have a steady hand though....( a jeweler for years and years)

Finally got around doing my belt covers! They were the ugly gray ones....

I first cut them with my handisaw in the shape i wanted (simple, nothing fancy), filed and sanded it down to make the edges smooth then cleaned very well. Sanded with a medium grit sandpaper and applied a coat of plastic primer. i chose to use the Duplicolor high temperature spray paint and applied 2 nice light coats to it, up to then the coats were perfect but when I did the third coat, the paint was coming out flaky and left the surface rough. I ended up having to wet sand it with a 600 grit paper and repainted with a Rust-Oleum medium gloss paint.

Also ordered a TPO honeycomb screen and cut it to shape and attached it to the cover using Gorilla brand epoxy. Used a blow dryer to cure it and not it is tough as nails!

Installed the covers on the bike yesterday and couldn't help but smile! It made the bike look cool and meaner, costing me around $20!!! This is my first mod ever and I'm very happy with the results! Check it out:

thanks! your side covers look great also. mine are carbonfiber so i'm not going to do them. i'm going to do the sprocket cover instead. matter of fact, i'm going to the garage now to do them!

I've never seen red ones.  I ran with no covers for a while.  I put a small dot of white paint on the edge of the belt, and you could see it moving around pretty good at idle.
