Live to ride, Ride to live.

« on: October 09, 2008, 08:11:45 AM »

Howdy gang,

Well......for those of you who remember me, John Phelps from Louisiana with the beautiful silver '97 M750 that sat in the back of a truck for Koyote Ranch #1, I'll pick up my bike Saturday at 9AM at Metric in Houston.

Thanks to Hiero for sending me to Andy.

Everything back together, although Andy has warned me that he does NOT like the play in the connecting rod mains on the used engine I bought and that the engine might just blow up any time but that I should just ride it like I stole it until it does.  So, that is my mission.

If anybody comes across a used '93-'98 750, 800, or 900 engine cheap, I'll buy it to keep as a back-up.

Join me at Metric at 9AM Saturday, October 11th, if you want to see me load my bike into the back of a yet to be released to the public 2009 Ford F-150.

I'm driving a 2009 Ford F-150 Supercrew, long bed, FX4 around the country as I train Ford sales reps on the new truck.  I'm in Houston this month hitting the dealers here.  I'm going to use the truck to take my Monster home to Louisiana.

I wish I could join you guys on the next Koyote Ranch run but I'm on this launch tour through Christmas.

Hopefully I can ride my Monster on a Spring Fling for Bluebonnets at Koyote.

I just hope the engine lasts, I've only ridden my Monster for 3 weeks out of the last 3 years.

Cheers.

Hey! I saw your bike the other day there. I was wondering whose it was.

Congrats on getting your bike back, metric is a good place.

I wish I could come to the rebirth, but sadly, I'll be on the track, maybe you should swing by  Grin

Track good......

Unfortunately I'm working 14 hours a day driving this F-150 and pulling a 9,000 pound trailer filled with props for our classroom set-up at each dealership.

It's going to be all I can do to drive the truck and trailer from our Friday dealership in Sugarland, across Houston to Crosby, Texas where our Monday class will be, unhitch my trailer and leave it there Friday night, drive back to my hotel on Westheimer out past the Galleria, wake up Saturday morning and meet Andy at metric at 9 AM Saturday, load the bike into my '09 F-150, drive home to Jennings, Louisiana 3 hours away, see my wife, then drive back to Crosby, Texas to unload the trailer and set up for our class Monday morning.

I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

Have fun at the track. Which track?

TWS, MSR?
