there are 9000 posts in this thread that are NOT applicable to 696..be really helpful if somebody has any info about resetting the  696 indicator- it does not access or reset the same way other model bikes do...

so far as i know, this is a dealer only reset.

Having worked for a Ducati Dealer, The only way to get the Spanner logo off the Dash is to plug the unit into a DDS and have it reset that way. (according to Ducati Australia's Service Manager anyway)

For everyone suggesting the "hold down the button on the dash and turn the key on" method, as used on the S*R models and others, that only works on the on the older models (Magnetti Marelli ECU's) the new Siemens ECU's (as used in the 696 and 1100 Monsters) do not use that reset method.

May I suggest trying this method as located by Herm, Can't hurt to try...

with the key in the off position, hold the scroll lever in the up position. While still holding the lever up turn the key and in a few seconds it will say PRO MODE, go into the MEM setting and clear it, turn the key off, back on. should be reset

a 696 will go into the 'PRO' mode, but that's all, it won't do any of the rest that's described in that thread, or clear the spanner, etc........
