I know there was some controversy over Vanson, but...

I got an email from them with a coupon code for $200 off a custom suit.  If anybody's planning on getting a suit from them, lemme know and I will forward the email to you.  I'm not associated with Vanson,  I'm just a cheap bastid and thought I'd pass this on if anybody could use it.

Mods, I wasn't sure where to post this.  If this is the wrong spot, would you move it for me?

DesmoDiva

I got one today too.

Also have 200 gift cert. for Vanson that we got as part of our MotoGP package with VivaDucati.  Too bad none of thier stuff appeals to me.

Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

So I went solo.  -Me

I'm tall with broad shoulders and could not find any of their stuff that fit me right. I have some Triumph gear (boots, jacket) that I really like. When I ride the Daytona I kind of feel like a dork b/c I'm not a "everything has to match" guy. Does that sound dumb?

It's like I keep saying:  Those who would sacrifice a free range session for a giant beer, deserve neither free range time nor a giant beer.

i have had guys reach back and grab my crotch in an attempt to get around me. i'll either blow in their ear or ask them politely to let go of my wang.

Personally, I like the Vanson stuff.... and it fits well.

No problems or issues yet with my jacket..... yet. I plan on buying pants too.

I've always raced with Vanson leathers. I don't think I've ever heard their quality questioned before. They are usually used as the highest benchmark of quality in the racing community. I have personally crashed in a Vanson suit many times and have never once had an issue with how it held up.
The problem with them is their customer service is crap. If you can fit their off the rack gear then you should buy it. But, if you need to send your stuff to them...there's a good chance that you will not be a fan anymore. You are better off sending your suit to someone else to alter, or repair.

I'm going to have a new race suit made for next season, and I'm looking elsewhere. Right now, Komodo is at the top of the list because I really like their gear and they have probably the best reputation for customer service.

I think the customization and their customer service was Ash's issue

A friend of mine got a custom suit from them last year.  The seams came apart during normal riding on 2 or 3 occasion in different parts of the suit.  Once around the leg area, then around the back/lower back part.  CS was shit and it took 4ever to get his suit back.

He said f-it and went out and got a Laguna Seca Dainese, I haven't seen him wear his Vanson since.

I have a ten year old set of Vansons. they are holding up great. the only thing that as been sub Par are the zippers on the sleeve. I had both of them replaced at Johnson leathers In S.F. other wise no problems except that I'm starting to get too fat for the Jacket.  [laugh]

I love my Vanson suit.  I also love my Vanson perfed jacket for the street.  I had an issue witha zipper on the jacket and honestly... took about a week to get back.  I live about an hour from them so I dropped off/pickedup.

I'm also not the type of person that would take a hissy fit if a thread was out of place.

I got the $200 Vanson email also...already planning on using it.
