So as it may be, I'm in the midst of 6000 mile servicing my bike, I'm happy about the fact that all of my valves measured out within spec (shocked).  I have a small little issue however.  Ducati timing belt maintenance schedule is 2 years/12,000 miles.. well I'm at half the reccomended milage..  and only 1 year of actual riding of the bike.  *however* Its a 2006  bike with a manufacture date (on the frame sticker) of 7/2005 leading me to believe the belts may be well over 2 years old...  so whats a guy to do?  Do I go with the time they've been "used" or the time they've been on the engine?  I know broken belts = bent valves, dinged pistons, burst blood vessals, rapidly emptied wallets, wives who reassure you that you shouldn't have bought the bike in the first place..  so the gamble would be there...  I'm just not entirely sure if I want to spend 100$ PER BELT at this point in time.. guess it boils down to pay some now or possibly pay lots of $$$ later...   /Rant Over.  bang head bacon

I say, hit it with a big fn hammer.  but, lube it first with some bacon grease & a pb-n-j.   bang head  bacon

Seriously...   this coming from the 2nd most sarcastic person I know, (I think that may be what the S in 1098 stands for) DDGM.

Your there,  change em'.
Were they gonna' break anytime soon?   I very much doubt it.   Like he said , peace of mind.  Isn't that all any of us are looking for?

And damn straight,   new shoes make you run faster.

for what I remember...I was 10 the last time I ran.
