Hi, my name is Ruffles, I'm 15 years old.

I'm looking for a pregnant dog who's into long naps, sneaking into the cat litter box for a snack, killing skunks, and a slightly smelly, wrinkly old man. I've got the softest tongue and the sweetest disposition you'll ever meet.

Mom was going to have me fixed when she adopted me about seven years ago, but the vet told her I was so old already then (for a Shar Pei) that the surgery would be a bit dangerous and kinda pointless. SCORE!  waytogo

This is Maddy.  We have had her going on two months now.  Three in a half year old lab mix.  We thought our other dog ozzy needed a friend.  He is going on Seven and he just does not care that she is around.  She was a find on craigs list.  The people said they just had a baby and could not keep her.  They were going to take her to the pound.  I could not let that happen.

I agree one hundred percent.  My wife and I are splitting up and I ran into a similar situation with the pets that she just had to have.  Two separate occasions I came home from work to find her on the hunt for pets.  One of those times I even came home to find two kittens here waiting for me.  The other we ended up getting Darmah, our doberman who kicks ass.  Well, now she says that the pets are mine and the she doesn't want them.  Makes me sick that people just look at these critters as something to fill your time with for a while and then discard them when they are no longer convenient to have around.  I'm not sure if I will be able to find an apartment that will let me have all three of them once I leave this house, but I sure am going to do my best.

So sorry to hear.  ((hugs))

I was in a similar situation, when my ex-husband and I split up he wanted to "get rid of" the dogs.  He even talked his sister and brother-in-law out of taking them when they expressed interest.

I ended up finding an apartment that let me have them, it wasn't easy but I did it.  They had already been given up and re-homed once (Watson) or twice (Grover) before I got them, I didn't want them to go through that again.

Thanks.  It's going to be interesting moving this little furry family from Hawaii to DC next spring, if I get the job I am going for.

Yes, People are ass hats.  Thanks Triple 3.   When we first got her she stared peeing on herself, even while she was asleep.  So we took her to the vet and they put her on some incontinence pills for a month, now she is over with that.  Now she needs knee surgery.  Blew out her knee.  So my free dog has cost us over a thousand as of now.  But she is worth it. DOGS got to love em

I wanted to adopt this little girl when I saw her on the news last week.  I'm sure sure there's a line to do so!!

"Her owner abandoned her, she's been sick and in the hospital, and she was born with only two legs.

Roo has started to learn how to get around using her back two legs. The Arizona Humane Society hopes to fit her with a device that will help her get around.

The Humane Society Second Chance Animal Hospital hopes to have the device in the next few weeks. The hospital relies on donations to help stray animals like Roo with medical costs and food whether the animals are dealing with unexpected problems or ones they are born with."

I can't help but laugh a little. Especially the golden w/the pantyhose.  I have a friend who does that to her dogs.  Once I saw a woman with poodles who had outfits on with elastic around the legs that was cutting off their circulation.  She told me to MMOB.   Roll Eyes

Lads and Lasses, I present, for your approval (or not, I'm still keeping her either way  cheeky )...
Dancer!!

She's a 58lb. 1yr. 11mo Pit Bull. (not mix... 200 proof Pit Bull.) Rescued from a tiny cage that had her paws curl as she grew too large for it... Fostered for about 8 months and found her way in to my heart and house. LOOOOOOOOOVES people, peanut butter, and car rides. Not so sure about other dogs, but that will come with time and training...

She's my 60lb lap dog.  Grin
