For those that don't know the one without the spots is Dalia our two year old.

Meet Luca Brasi, he's about five months and we were able to rescue him from the San Bernardino shelter.

They're getting along very well. It's really great to see her play with him, she seems much happier. Now we've just gotta fatten him up a bit.

Big for 5 months!

Good looking family.  [thumbsup]

Bringing them out to play in the snow soon?  (if we ever get any.)
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Awesome.   [thumbsup]  Your big guy looks like he has settled in nicely.

I like knowing the instant that someone starts walking up the driveway. Or thinks about walking up the driveway. Or looks up the driveway from across the street. Or walks past the driveway. Even from the back bedroom my dogs have that make the beast with two backsing driveway covered. And the two bad ones are slowly teaching the Dane to bark if there is the slightest possibility of a hint of some noise that could maybe have come from anywhere in the vicinity of the greater driveway area.

/I know when Bacon Junkie is about a half a mile way from my house on his 999 too.
//Did he mention that he got one?

Najee is doing great Sac, he knows he is as safe as he ever will be, he knows he is loved without question and has a home with a consistent routine

where others tried to beat a mean-ness into him and failed,

love and tenderness have given him a growing (albeit still tentative) courage

and Ella is teaching him how to be a fierce guardian of his domain

So cool seeing all of the rescue dogs!  [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup]

What kind is the big one?

The wife told me last night that she wants another Mastiff.  Looks like we'll be getting another friend for the Frenchie.

The wife told me last night that she wants another Mastiff.  Looks like we'll be getting another friend for the Frenchie.

IZ he is a Cane Corso Mastiff with a fawn coat...it has an almost iridescent/silvery quality to it not unlike the Weimaraner's

his nickname is Mr. Fluttermuzzle...he makes this snorting noise where his lip flaps when he sleeps sometimes....like a horse or Curly from the 3 Stooges

if you don't mind the viscous thick drool when they get nervous, or the occasional room-clearing farts, or the atrocious snoring..

well I have never owned a more affectionate and gentle dog...I have always had GSD's and this boy is a delightful genetic departure/alternative

Najee was as beaten down and abused as a dog could get...he spent 4 months in a park in Philly hiding from humans...

my daughter did the preliminary work with him and left him with me...

it took about a month of sitting on the kitchen floor hand-feeding him rotisserie chicken bits from the local market to get him past being man shy

another month before he could enter a room where I was standing...sitting was okay..standing was too threatening to him...he loves his walks and that is how he mostly got past the standing issue

Our female has also been instrumental in giving him his trust queues with humans

he still has some residual flinch-and-cower reflex if I make sudden movements near him....must been blind-sided a lot by the prior morons who worked him over...so I try to be conscious of my movements near him in tight areas like the kitchen....

hoping he outgrows that reflexive response...tides of time will tell

[laugh]

Yeah, kinda low priority right now. We're trying to decide on flooring and getting small shit fixed/improved. The house is much busier with these two.  ;D

Thanks for the link.  Larry "Landshark" has a Cane Corso.  I also saw one at the mall pet store last night.  I hear they can be quite aggressive?

I'll have to check out the link.

We're looking at another English Mastiff.  Looking through the rescues..possibly..after Christmas.

Yes, we lived in a small place with our Mastiff before.  They don't need to run around a lot.  We'll be moving into a house within a year.
