New foster as of this evening, Chloe (on the left).  11 y/o mix (cattle dog, golden retriever and....?).  She already found Brian's spot on the couch (after this pic was taken) and he is pouting worse than in this picture.   [laugh]

Chloe is a cutie! [thumbsup]

Wait...  Randimus is out of town...  You get a new dog...  hmmmm....

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

What is the total toe count in the bed now?  Three figures yet?

Too soon to tell.

If we are all at home at the same time and the cat decides that the foster is ok, the maximus toe (and finger) total has the potential to be....

90

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Mmm....

Fritos.

Brian's paw ended up in my face the other day.  Fritos indeed.

And another thanks to Rat900 for the rotisserie chicken recommendation for under-the-weather pups with no appetite. Made a homemade version and it was a hit w/the foster girl Chloe.

Polpetta

Any suggestions, I need to change Fritzy Pants and Jasper's food.

A while back we switched Bogart to Pure Vita Salmon and Potato and he has been doing really well.

We started Fritz off on Wolf King for puppies, he had food allergies so we moved him to Gentle Giants...(Bogart was on it because he came from their rescue) Fritz did better on this but Bogart was too stinky. Then we tried all three on the Pure Vita but only kept Bogart on it. We placed Fritz and Jasper back on Gentle Giants but Fritz is itchy again and real pink underneath and licking his paws again. Jasper's stool is always too soft.

We have discussed Raw Food but are unsure because the boys are still puppies and they can't have too much protein. (their all large dogs)

Any thought, suggestions?

Stella

As far as the poo:  I highly recommend a probiotic.  Sprinkle over food 1-2x/day.  Works wonders for Brian.  Every foster we've had has come to us with soft or runny stool & the probiotic has always worked for them w/o fail.  (My brother used organic, plain yogurt for his dog.)

Allergies... haven't had to deal with that - sorry can't be of help there.   Good luck - that can be a long process figuring out what works - and doesn't.   :P

Good luck Polpetta!! I was wondering how Jasper was doing...hope the "soft" poo is no longer "indoor middle of the night" poo...

It was great meeting "The Dude" at long last.   She brought us some epic beer.

I've tried quite a few of the high end dog foods for my 2 pups (Great Dane and lab/pit mix). They liked them all, but eventually they all made them gassy with soft stools, sometimes runny. I don't know what it is, but I've tried various mixes of Evo, various mixes of Wellness, Blue Buffalo, Solid Gold, and probably a couple I forgot.

The only one that both can handle is Nutro Ultra (Adult initially, and now Senior as they're getting old). Dog Food Advisor gives it 4/5 stars which is pretty good. http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/nutro-ultra-dog-food-dry/

Not sure if it'll work with the allergies though.
