Enjoy!  BTW: In the middle photos, I did not touch the ground... I estimate I traveled ~45 feet in the air without ground contact.

you must have been flying. ??  I'm sure you scared the shit out of the other guy. The photos show you missing the back of him, and then beating him thru the chicane sliding in front of him..which means you slid pretty damn far. wow

BTW I assume that your OK by posting only pics and not saying "look what I broke..."  Wish you would ride out east so we could see ya keep the rubber side down.   Tongue

Damn boy! Shocked Way to wreck in style. I assume you're ok since you didn't start your post "Lying here in traction". So how was the bike, new forks and headstock?

What caused you to throw it down anyway?

Cool.  Not sure I can beat the 45 feet in distance - can you beat 15 feet in height?

Sweet pics, thanks for sharing.

Was that when you highsided the 400 coming out of 4?

...and they say less CCs = safer.

How is your ankle healed up from that one btw?

Damn, you have a good memory.  Yes, but that's Lloyd Magruder's estimate - he was doing his cornerworking on the inside of that turn.  If you know Lloyd you'll know to take that 15ft figure with a grain of salt.  I know that it FELT like 30ft, but I probably fell deeper that time I went over a cliff on Mulholland.

I don't remember hurting my ankle in the highside.  My current ankle issues are the result of my most recent turn 8 tumble.  It healed okay but remained weak.  I have to be very careful where I step, especially when I'm drunk.

But this is Tigre's thread.  What I really want to see is some after-the-fact leathers, helmet and gloves pics.

15 feet... shite!

My gear held up remarkably well.  Light scuff on the palms of the gloves -- I won't even bother to post pics.  The helmet never touched.  The leathers took a little scraping, but the only functional issue was a small 1-2" tear in the kevlar stretch panel under my armpit.  I'll dig up the pictures.

One word: "Helimot leathers" -- Helmut makes a mean set of leathers.  In all my crashes since I switched to his leathers, I haven't gotten really hurt once.  I honestly believe my poor-fitting "custom-fit" Vanson suit would have left me in shambles.

But this is Tigre's thread.  What I really want to see is some after-the-fact leathers, helmet and gloves pics.

Suit pics added to flikr site.

You can see that the suit was still 99% functionally sound -- only looked like a tear in the kevlar stretch under my right armpit.  Not too shabby!!!  Helmut Kluckner of Helimot leathers is a genius.
