I can't find the receipt but some of the highlights I remember are that all 8 shims needed exchanged at $15 each. 4 spark plugs were $16.95 each and labor alone was $800!!

No kidding??/ REALLY?? MAN... I really need to start offering service at $800 a pop for tops of 4 hours work, while having to do 8 shims...
FYI, I have NEVER seen a stock Duc motor that needed more than 4.. EVER.. But Ive only been adjusting Duc valves since 1994

Well after reading this thread I am officially doing it myself. I can and have but get all OCD afterward worrying about if it is right.
a question, being mine is injected, do the dealers plug in the brain to check the mapping or is that over and above regular service?

I just got mine done, with an oil change and they also installed my Boomtubes, for just shy of $300.
This wasn't a dealer but a local shop with 20+ years experience working on european bikes. I trust them more than the local stealerships and it sure as hell beats the quote I got from the local Ducati shop. "It'll start at 650 and go up from there."

heh. i was so spoiled when i used Alain at Corse Motorsports in Nashville.
he'd work with me on nonsense ideas and do the valve job for really pretty low $, and I got to drink beer and play around the shop before i went home for the day if I was dropping the bike off.

I put a list of what I plan to do for my 620 6k service up on a blogger page. I'm going to try and be good about recording my steps.
If anyone is interested in checking it out, here is the link
http://620monster6kservice.blogspot.com/
If you have any tips for me I will add them to the page.
Thanks!

I have a very good indy Ducati mechanic. I got the 6k service AND a new clutch slave cylinder installed, parts AND labor around $500.
Valve clearance wise, all my openers were in spec, but all my closer shims needed adjustment. Go figure.
With a dealership there is probably a lot of overhead they have to make up for in the cost.
if Matt did the work i would be happy to pay 500bucks
he knows his work
