I saw another HID related thread but it seems as no one has insatalled
them on a 696. Atfer doing a visual on the headlamp itself I noticed that
the H7 bulb has a refletor, and I THINK the HID bulb will be slightly too
long at hit this piece. Is that reflector removeable, or does the bulb actually
squeeze in there. I would also like to know where you hid your HID ballast?

Thanks!

I purchased my HID's from a company called DDM Tuning.  You can find them through google.  The H7 Bulb fits fine but the H1 bulb requires you to mod the headlamp a little.  Gotta shave away a little bit of material for it to fit.  Nothing major though.  Or if you are lazy you could wiggle it into place.  It might be a little crooked though.  I mounted my ballasts between the trellis frame and the tank.  It all blends in since everything is black.

I would love to see some pix.
If you ever have to take it apart
get out that camera, I would like
to see your final mod. I assume
you went dual, and love them??

+1 for some pics as I am also looking at DDM for quite a while. Their ballast are tiny compare to others but I wasn't sure how much glare it gives off with our 696 light housing. How did they turn out for you l4zy?

I been looking at some Kits also. Did you put them for high beam and low beam? What size wattage are the bulbs? I seen some that are 35w and 50w. I was thinking of doing 35w for the low and 50w for the high but I'm not sure yet.

Please do everyone on the roads and yourself a favor and do a full retrofit. A little bit more work but it is well worth it.

+1 ...glare on HID is just annoying and distracting.

Retrofit using Morimoto projector from theretrofitsource.net is the best way (should be the only way) to go.

However, I do have a HID kit from DDM (non high/low though) 35W with 6000K bulb if you interested. Brand new, never install.  You can have it for less if that's what you decided to do.  Just PM me.
