s2r1k color change

hello, when I bought my 06 s2r1k I had a hard time deciding between black or silver. went with the black. but I have always thought that since the frame is the same color on both, if I obtained the proper used parts in silver I could swap once in awhile and have best of both worlds. I would need: black wheels with discs
         silver tank with internals
         fairing
         seat cowl
         can't recall if the front fender is different?
question is how long do you think it would take to do this swap? seems pretty simple but am I missing anything? anyone doing this? I'm thinking if I swapped every sping or so it would be good.

Couldnt take more than a few hours I am guessing to make the swap.

the tank and wheels would take the longest (maybe a few hours if your first time doing it). the rest would only take a few minutes.

The tank would take about 10 minutes. theres only 3 bolts to it. with 4 tubes. 2 fuel, 2 vent(it could be 3)
Rear wheel should take less than 1 minute(SSS BABY!) front wheel should take 20mins if you dont have the right tools

Right now im looking to turn my bike red. Pretty much in the same boat as you, i had a silver S2R1k with the black stripe, went down, turned it black, now i wanna go red. lol

thanks guys, now I need to find someone who bought a new silver in order to do a custom. I like this idea, I like variety, maybe I'll get some wigs or something for my wife

I would install quick disconnects (the metal kind seem more durable) for your fuel lines (supple, return) to make the swap quicker and cleaner(no drippy fuel lines).

Too funny, I did the same thing!  But I got the silver with black stripe.  Tonight I was searching the net for black tanks.  Would love to have a black tank too.

+1  I just did this and a fuel line re-route.  Much cleaner looking -- no fuel lines draped on the right engine case.
