That's great.  One method that I use is to put them on hold while I  go "look" for the person they are calling.  In reality I just put them on mute, go about my business, and hang up the phone a couple of minutes later.

funny stuff 

this organization that mike donated money to,
kept calling for him when he wasn't home, and was becoming a major pain in the ass...
he called them and then told me that if they call again, to just tell them he can't do it this year.

so the next time they called i tried to do that, and they insisted on calling back to speak with him directly.
so the next time they called... when they asked for Mike... I said I was him 

the girl on the other end of the phone didn't believe me... it was hilarious.
