Superbike batteries (240 CCA / 1lb 6.9oz) = $214.00

 Supersport batteries (120 CCA / 11.9oz) = $132.00

Will this work on a high compression motor? I tried running a PC310 and it would not turn the motor over. bang head

Well, easiest way to see would be to check the CCA (Cold cranking amps) of your current battery.  If it's higher than 240, I'd stick with what you've got.  A larger pack could be made to give it additional CCA, for a price.  With AO's old 916 in your sig, it probably won't be a problem for you  laughingdp drink waytogo

So on the 4V, with the battery sitting on the side, this battery will do fine?

Nice find.

What battery are you running then?  The PC310 has 310 CCA for 5 seconds, which is a lot more than a stock battery.

Sound to me like the PC310 was either bad, or not properly charged up.

+1:  310 CCA for 5 seconds, 250 CCA for 10 seconds, 225 CCA for 20 seconds, 200 CCA for 30 seconds.

I'm thinking about getting the race version for my race monster, but I'm still wondering something.... You said that it would run for 30-40 minutes? Doesn't the engine running at high revs while on the track keep the charge up? I'm asking because there are some races where I may get into trouble because I would be running for more than 40 minutes. Am I thinking correctly that it should be fine if the bike keeps running over the 4K RPM?

I know that you pm'd me and said that it would work but I didn't follow up with these questions, so I am here.
Thanks chug

I ran a Yuasa YT 7 in my track bike and never had any issues.

I would think a properly operating charging system would keep any battery sufficiently charged.

The battery does need to be able to crank the motor long enough to start in the first place.

You said race bike, so I assumed you were running a total-loss system (no charging/alternator).

The smaller battery will work fine for you, the only real function of the battery is to start the bike, and at low RPM's run the accessories.
