Hey folks,
I have only been a member here for a short time but you all have been helpful when answering my questions, so I am reaching out to you all once again. My wife has type 1 diabetes and has had it since she was 10 months (now 24 years old). Every year we go on a walk to raise money for research for a cure.  The walk is coming up again (on Saturday) and we are trying to raise more than we ever had before. So I could not feel good without reaching out to everyone I possibly could. I am asking for donations for the JDRF walk. If you can donate $5, $10, $25, $50, whatever you can would be great. If you can't, or simply don't want to, that is fine, I completely understand, money is not exactly overflowing from people's bank accounts and none of you out there know me or my wife. If you can or do, anything will be apreciated.
Just copy and paste this link in your browser to donate. http://walk.jdrf.org/walker.cfm?id=87154089

Diabetes is a serious disease that effects many millions of Americans. It may effect someone you know without you know or possibly even without them knowing.  It is a difficult disease to live with and leads to many other medical complications. I will not get into all the details, but if you search online for it, you will find an abundance of information. Even if you can't donate, do yourself a favor and get educated about diabetes. Thanks for your time, and your donations.

Thanks,
Robert and Natalie

I've moved this into No Moto Content as it's not bike related.

brickdog,  you haven't violated any specific rules, but I have to comment that the post does leave a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.  Yes it's a good cause...if it were complete spam it would be deleted.    But there's something unsettling about someone so new here asking for members to donate any money.     There are tons of important things just like this that any members could be bringing to everyone's attention...hell, doing what I do I could list a dozen heart-string pullers off the top of my head.

When you get to know some folks here you'll start to see some great causes they are involved in.

So perhaps save things like this for friends locally?   or friends you meet here once you can call them friends and not just three thousand strangers?
It's still buy a flounder a drink month

Statler,
This was not an attempt to pull at heart strings. Delete it if you want. It is a good cause and affects a shit ton of people. Yeah, I am new on here. And if people think it is in bad taste then they are entitled to their opinion. I likely won't meet hardly even a percentage of the people on here. And I don't typically have enough to add to have people on here really get to know me.

As I said, donate if you want and can. If you can't or don't want to its fine.
