Quick Question: What tire pressure should I be running on my bike ?
«
on:

QUESTION:
What is the proper tire pressure for a 07 S2R1K ?
I rode the bike to work today and the rear tire def. needs some air.
Says max pressure on the rear is 42PSI cold, so would I put in 40psi if the tire is hott ?
Sorry for the stupid questions, just something I never really payed attention to before..
As usual, ALL help is appreciated...

The max pressure stamping is just that, and doesn't reflect recommended pressure.
What does it say in your owners manual?
I'll bet it's something like 32F/34R

Not sure what Ducati has listed as the proper pressure, but I typically run 32 front and 34 rear.
Vote for Pedro.

I dont have the owners manual on me (at work).
I ask becasue I ran over a glass bottle on the way to work and noticed the
rear tire was alittle low. When I checked the rear it wasnt even at 30psi, so I jacked it to 40 and parked it.
The more I thought about it the more I think that 40 is way too high, thus my question on here..
So you guys think 35 front/rear is cool ?
The bike is a daily commuter, so I m not worried about handling or anything..

I'd go with 32/34.

Regardless of what kind of riding you do, tire pressure is quite important.
How long have you had the bike? It took me a couple of thousand miles to get the pressure dialed in the way I like it. Your suspension may have an effect on how your tires grip so I would think about getting that setup as well. I'm 230lbs so I typically run AT LEAST 35 psi, not to mention I carry around the girlfriend quite frequently so the extra psi helps with a pillion. I guess I just complicated the simple answer everyone else just gave
. 32/34 is a good starting point. You can always tweak it from there. Just whatever you do, please don't run 40pounds unless you're carrying someone my size as well as gear behind you

I set the tires @ 35 front and back for the time being.
I just got back from lunch, and the bike does ride allot better (than it did before).
I will def. play around with it, but this "Indian Summer" we here in Chicagoland are having is susposed to end later this week so I am not sure exactly how much "seat time" I ma going to get before the crap weather comes back..

If you're commuting using 32/34 will wear our tires really quickly. I ride moderately aggressive and I use ST tires with 34F/36R. Personally If I was commuting, I would use 36F/38R in the summer and 34F/36R in the winter. Your wallet will thank you.

34f 36r...seems to be the best for tire wear (for me)
i have been known to drop it back for spirited rides though.
