Paul (G.A.) > I tried the immobilzer function (red key in hold open throttle for a while, but never got the blinker to go off so i could try my code.) maybe i did it incorrectly. I will try this again as well.

If still had my monster, I'd swap gauges with you to see if at least you get a gauge sweep/change...maybe somebody can step up here?

I don't have any real plans for next weekend... I could ride over and loan you mine. Maybe someone else needs some wrenching done too and we could make it a thing...

Update to this saga:

I am almost certain the gauge pod has gone bad. I undid the ignition cover and checked and cleaned every connection that had a plug.
Listening very carefully when the key is first turned on i can hear the pod trying to do something in there but its sounds very bad.

Is changing the pod possible or is it all hooked up to the ECU/Key/Alarm?

Edward, your bike won't start with his gauge cluster, but I was thinking it may be a poor man's way to determine if all the right "things electrical" were at least getting to the cluster.  (i.e. is it an ignition switch or a?)  Just trying to narrow things down.

Without a Mathesis tester you really are at this point chasing a ghost (no pun intended)  If Yotogi's generous offer doesn't bare jack, you're really gonna have to stop wasting your time and bite the bullet and take it to D/A.  They don't necessarily have to Fix it for you, just with this type of problem it's best to pay the diagnostic time to really nail down the problem.  Your time is running out if you intend to petition Ducati North America for help.

I'm going to be gathering up my bike this weekend from AF-1, then helping TXDuc get his steering head bearings back in his bike....if I can, I'll check in and see how things are going....

Talked to Paul up at MA today and he said that it shouldn't break anything to try your cluster on my bike or vice versa. But if you are going to take it up there anyway, hell, they are ready for you. Get it fixed so we can go ride.

UPDATE: The Bike lives!
The culprit: A relay that had gone bad and melted, causing a short, the gauge cluster is okay..(for now).

I want to thank everyone that helped and offered to help especially Paul and Arron. Thanks to DA for a quick fix and friendly service.
Note: My rear brake light is back on, could this be the source of the bad relay? I will call them on tuesday and investigate.

Thanks again for everything and hopefully see yall on wednesday so we can plan a ride for the weekend.

Wrong letter to double up on buddy (2 a's 1 r)! I am so completely insulted that I feel like I have to rescind my offer to help you diagnose your problem alltogether!

By rear break light back on, do you mean it is stuck on? If so, yeah, that might could lead to a burnt out relay, but it could just indicate a short that caused the problem in the first place!

Indeed, I agree with AAAAARRRRRROOOONNNN (!) and perhaps a shorted taillight wire or relay has burnt the other relay....nice to know the fuse system built in works, eh?.....are there physical signs on the one identified relay (i.e. melted case)??  If you look around under the tank  & around the outside of the airbox, are there other relays which don't look "right"?

Heh, I don't think that anyone was too worried at the customer meet and greet. Hell, many if not most of them already own Ducatis so they were just thinking how lucky they were that theirs wasn't broken.

looks like one of the ol siemens v203073 (3072 in some older bikes) relays they use for some of the safety loops...
