In the intrest of keeping our members together during the winter months, DesmOhio has started playing paintball. We had about a dozen show for the first round and more are showing an interest. I have spoken with the Hoosier Hooligans, Ducs Unlimited and Coastal Ducati about starting teams in their clubs so we can play against each other. People are digging the idea. If you are interested, talk to your club. It is a bunch of fun.
To make things easier on everyone I decided to become a dealer for Tippmann paintball guns. If you want to play and need a gun/marker I am offering thease guns at cost for Ducati Club members.
Please let me know if you or your club is interested in playing. I think this could be a bunch of fun! [beer]

again, mom spouts nothing less than the truth!

I think desmotropic would have just enough players for a 5 man team.   :D and I think I'm the only one who  ever played 'ball...

Charlief

So... these would be travelling paintball teams?

I play all the time and love it.

I think it started with the WDP Angel but I was out of the industry at that point

I do know that...oh god I have forgotten his name....

something Farrel at Fastech was make the beast with two backsing around with an electric rotating bolt design for the the PMO illustrator

(heavy modded F2 for Police/Military training)

since it was going to utilize a spring actuated magazine instead of a gravity fed hopper

it was a slick set-up but the battery tech was pretty weak at that point (15+ years ago)

and it died out with the huge popularity of the new Airgun Designs Automag that was already stealing the thunder from the Worr games autococker

Also

The fastech design was for the battery to operate the bolt where the new "electric" gun are primarily an electric actuated sear instead of the old spring and lever design

some of them you even "boot Up" on a laptop to adjust trigger speed, it's kinda hard for me to switch over to that kind of thinking after learning to tune a gun with springs and valves

even so

the angels and all the clones are pretty neat enginerd wise

one thing that I always got a kick out of is all the elitists who bagged on the autococker as being so outdated

so hard to tune in changing temperatures

and

pissed and moaned

because

they wasted so much time during turny's to dial them in

who are now shooting Angels that are essentially updated autocockers

it makes me smile

it makes me smile so much

I still run an old, if slightly updated, autococker because it's better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool... :P

There's a lot of folks who play on here. Not sure I could drum up a team from CAM - but I've been playing for years.  Last couple I went retro and been playing almost exclusively with Orracle bodied Sniper that I pieced together.

Tippys are still (for the most part) all mechanical - though you can electrify them.  And I'm in the 'cocker camp too.  People who moan about them being hard to set up are just ham fisted and don't do it right the 1st time.  I shot 3 cases of paint through my Mech autococker over 5 different weekends and never had the change a thing.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.
- '00 M900S with all the farkles
- '08 KTM 690 StupidMoto
- '07 Triumph 675 Track bike.

Maybe we can pull together a PennDesmo vs. DesmOhio game?  I'm not sure we really have the members for it right now but maybe spring time or so.

I have fond memories of my old 68 special  ;D

as to the autococker

for me it was a CO2 issue, and I feel the stock 3-way is junk

after updating it along with my reg and ram and switching to high pressure I have never had a problem with it besides ram adjustment but I tinker too much

usually if my cocker is shooting like shit it's because the cocking rod is loose

Lets combine it with a ride. We can hit 711 area around Johnstown and Seven Springs on the bikes and play paintball at the cliffs at Lynn Run. My old stomping grounds! I have a friend in Latrobe where we can use as home base.
