This one is a little bit different.

It's 1/72nd scale. And yes, those faces are a pregnant dog to paint. Once the oils dry on the figures I will flat coat them to get rid of the glossy sheen.

I do it for fun. I wish I could make money at it.

The figures are supposed to be turning to look at an oncoming aircraft, which is about to strafe their asses. I like the effect, when you walk up to the model it looks like they are staring at you.

I had an offer, and then it went all wishy-washy. Now they don't "need" me until January. Back to the job hunt.

Generally it takes me a few days to assemble a given kit, depending on the scale. Sometimes I'll take as long as a full week just for assembly (some kits have 500+ parts to remove, clean and prep before carefully sticking together). Base painting takes a day, I work with acrylics that dry fast so I can do all the camo work in a few hours. Weathering takes a day or two, I have a set routine (my personal "style", everyone develops their own methods over time) that becomes second nature and is probably the quickest part of the process for me.

This one was quick because it is a small scale and a simple kit. About a week working slowly, taking extra time for the figures. If there is an interior on the kit (or its a bike/car, which has interior detail and auto paint which takes a full week to properly layer and cure), my work time doubles or triples, sometimes close to a month. I always have more than one thing going at any time, so that I don't get bogged down in one subject and tired of working on the same thing. At this moment I have three other half-built kits sitting on my bench - a Tiger with interior, a Dino 246GT, and a 1/16 German figure. The figure is next in line.
