You've got brake markers and turn-in points for your morning commute.
Am I the only one who thinks about the best race line for freeway ramps?

It's like we're dogs, marking territory. Brake here, hit the gas there, wheelie over there (everywhere).
My brake markers tend to be the rear end of all the damn Prius' on Folsom St. Why won't they get out of my way?

You're not the only one, MM.
Nor are you the only one to do it in a pink tutu. (where's the dancing pink tutu smiley when ya need it?)

Yeah, that tutu really sets off the Vespa nicely!

You all need to come up here. lots less traffic to screw up your turn in points & Brake markers. Just about everywhere you go is like the track.

The timing of this thread could not be more perfect.
EDIT : Re: You know you really should go to the track if...
So on the way home today... I come up on this this perfectly beautiful 996 in Fiat Ducati colors on the Embarcadero. He was actually waiting in line behind cars prior to my arrival like a wallflower. We tip hats and eyed each other's bikes, but only when the other was pretending to look forward. I darted in between the cars and he followed spiritedly. We pick our way through the crowd ritualistically as if preparing to dance. I came out of the front of the cars into the ample cross walk on 4th and King, my favorite red light in the entire city, just before the 1/2 mile on-ramp with giant sweeping left turn onto 280 South.
I made a short left swerve to allow the 996 to get out from the cars on the same line. We calmly sit up and wait the long light which clears the road onto the freeway ramp as far one could see. The flirt is over. Its serious time. No one is looking anywhere but forward.
(Clutch music) chinka chinka chinka chinka
(crossing street's lights)
Green...
Yellow... gloves on bars
Red... Click into 1st gear
(Our) Green-BrOOOoooooooooooom we're OFFF!!! My front end gets light and I'm instantly ahead and sweep into the right lane setting up for the on ramp; computer in bag makes for a little extra weight for the lean off. I hold it wound up in second for the apex. I can hear his Termis winding up behind me getting louder - he's breaking late and right on my flank. Lean, lean, lean, blasting into 3rd gear across the apex. We find a generous gap in traffic and join 280 wide open...
Open road greeted us for our shenanigans until a cop got on in front of us after Po hill. The 996 came up and we shared a laugh and a wave. I split off and went home. That made my day.

<raises hand>
guilty as charged.
I also practice "take offs" from stop lights (but I am careful to look before doing this maneuver so I don't get creamed by red-light runners)
I draft cars and slingshot around them down the front straight...errr...I mean...freeway.

And there's a certain stretch of Highway 1 in Marin County that regularly sees me at track-like speeds...especially if Itsasickness is chasing me
