For the second time in 2 years, I've managed to total a Triumph at the hands (hoofs) of a deer.  This time it was a nice size buck.  I'm sure everyone knows this, but it's a real reminder.  Be careful in the early morning hours and when the sun is setting.  Seems the deer get stupid in the fall at these times.

The bike is in decent condition with mostly body damage.  The insurance company did total it but I bought it back and was able to keep the clean title.  Be careful out there.

I ended up with a broken collar bone and a few other minor injuries.

Dude, glad you're ok.  Hope you recover quickly.   [drink]

At least winter is coming, so you can start rebuilding (and upgrading!!) your bike.

I was driving through the MN countryside last night (in my car), and during my 100-mile trip I had 3 encounters with deer.  I braked / avoided 2 of the deer, and the third was lurking near the road when I was stopped at a rural intersection.  Best of all, the last deer encounter occurred on a divided highway in the Minneapolis suburbs.   [roll]  Deer aren't confined to the 'countryside' folks.

I do not like to ride my Duc during this part of the season...   :-\

Once hit a deer in my parents' subdivision at about 5 in the morning. Remembering what that did to a big car, I can only imagine what it could potentially do to someone on a bike. Thanks for the warning and get well soon.
