Has anyone with termis (or any other aftermarket exhaust) on their 696 dyno'ed your bikes?  I am having trouble finding any aftermarket manufactures with dynos of their pipes for the the 696.  If you read the current Motorcyclist article on the Shiver v. 696, you probably saw the 696 dyno.  I am wondering if the new ECU evens out the power deliver as well as increases it.  Also, anyone with the termi/ECU upgrade - does it raise the redline?

I have....but I don't think you want to see the numbers....
This is a M696 with Termi CF + ecu + air filter.  Also a 14t in front.

I don't have a scanner right now...but here are some highlights.

Max Power = 66.5 HP
Max Torque = 43.3 ft-lbs

The max was at around 8400 RPM btw.
Was run on WinPEP, 3 runs.

What would the 696 originally dyno at?

Well...Ducati said 80 at the crank, and I've heard you should subtract around 15% for your rear wheel number.  That puts me right where I should be, except I DO have the termis and ECU.  So either:
1) Ducati is pushing their stock number a little high
2)the exhaust/ECU don't do much
3)I did a bad job breaking her in.

Not sure.  What are everyone's thoughts?

Usually closer to 10%.  A local ran his 848 prior to some tune work.  848 was rated at 130 bhp and his dyno'd at 117 whp.. so exactly 10% loss.  Given that model a 696 should knock out peak 72 whp.

Dyno's can vary a lot but 6 hp?  Hrm.

In the December 2008 Motorcyclist, the 696 dyno'ed with 67.2HP at 8.2K and 43.8t at 7.75K using a Superflow dyno.  The bike was stock.  The torque and HP curves were not that linear.   Your numbers seem a low with the termi kit, nkryptit.  I am not sure what would cause this.  This would be about a 16 percent loss of power generated to the rear wheel if DNA's numbers are accurate.  I was hoping the termi kit would improve those numbers.  Maybe that is why I cannot find any specs for the termi kit or any other exhaust online.  Undecided

I wonder if it's because of all the mods combined? From everyone I've spoken to that owns termis they swear by them.

I finally found my dyno print-out.  Thought I would share it.

dyno #'s differ by dyno...some shops even set it up to get higher #'s to get customers. there are more to ecu's and exhaust than a HP#...it is only something to tell someone. the real results are how much better you bike runs and works.

that's a quite amazingly flat torque curve for a 2v motor, probably because it's got big valves for it's capacity.  but they've stopped the runs while it's still making power.  why didn't they run it into the limiter?

the valves on the 696 are 44mm intake and 38mm exhaust.

for comparison, here's the dyno run that Motorcyclist Magazine did when they did their Shiva/696 Comparo.  I gotta believe that if the Termi/chip'd bike had been run all the way to the 10.5k redline, it would have had more power.  The power/torque curve in the WinPEP run backs up what I feel with the Butt Dyno.  Nice flat torque, with a power curve that really starts to pull after 5.5k-rpm.
