Hey guys, what is everyone's plans for the holidays?  Alex and I have been wanting to through a get-together/shindig at the new pad, but there is NO WAY it will be set up in time for Turkey Day.  So with that in mind, who is anyone doing the whole Christmas thing without family obligations (Tristan and Jen)?  Wink

Tough work? Look at all the practice you get.  Grin

Could be something like that.  Some food along with some wine and other tasty beverages...

we could probably host something x-mas like.  Remembering, of course, that Jen is Jewish and I am non-religious, so the 'x-mas' name is truly fit  waytogo

Well, the point was that we were wanting to have a half house-warming half random reason to have people over and drink night at our new pad around x-mas.  I, like you, don't really believe in celebrating Christmas so to speak, so there wouldn't be any God stuff involved, just food and drink.

I'm all for a Christmas season type party with you folks. I'll even make Gloria come along!! As for the God part, I'm a rational Christian. I know that this whole season started off as a pagan holiday, etc., etc.. I don't preach and everyone is welcome to their own belief or non-belief as far as I'm concerned. So I say let's have at it with all the good food & drink & music that we can stand for one weekend night somewhere in Dec.  It's the fellowship that really counts!

I misread originally; I saw the "NO WAY we'll be ready" bit, then the x-mas bit, and somehow didn't manage to notice the bit in the middle.  I think that all sounds fine.  Smarmy or otherwise  cheeky

You can make whatever you will out of this season. That's no idle or overused cliche'. There will be some good stuff and some bad stuff. I've just had some near unimaginable bad stuff dumped next to me that'll put a damper on the season but I still plan to make the best of it. Two people who are pretty close to me just got the news that they have cancer. Life will go on and we still plan on having good parties with them this season, chemo or not. Best of luck to you.
