That is right. The 1098 will be an 1198 in 2009 and the British Press has already tested the  1198 models. Sounds like they were very impressed with the 1198S, it has Traction Control.

Whoa, first real write up.  Nice find Pete!  Jeez, they make the 1098 sound wimpy by comparison.  That's typical of motojournalism, they have to constantly focus on "what's new".  1098's are NOT wimpy.

I'm kidding of course, I'd love to have your bike. Just made me giggle a wee bit.

Never really got to carve a corner with you before you moved WDB.  I'd love to see if I could stay in front of you on your 695.  You might be able to embarrass me!  [bow_down]

Thanks for the kind words but the truth is I was embarrassingly(and possibly dangerously) rusty on the run I did with you.  :-[ Scuffin' toes  [roll] get 'em up on the pegs, what am I a rookie.  [laugh] Seriously though, feeling much more comfortable now that I've been riding more again, and gotten more familar with the "Monstah"  ;)

yeah, knees, toes, elbows, hell I even drag my head now and then!!  just givin ya' a hard time ;D   I,m still trying to figure out how to ride this Multistrada, one corner feels like roadracing, the next feels like flat track, don't know to hang a knee or stick out a foot!!   I scored a JAWA 500 speedway bike for a project build, maybe that's the problem..

[laugh] Hey Smitch aren't the Hyper and Multi the same platflorm? If so them I would guess level of aggression would be the deciding factor in how to ride. I've seen the professionals do a lot of foot down riding on the Hyper when they are getting after it... I'm not comfortable doing that on the street though.... good way to mess up your leg real bad on surface irregulatities. Have fun with the Jawa... my family was aways picking up old ball old bikes when I was younger too.

Their frames and motors are virtually identical.  I've seen video of guys draggin' knees on Multi's, pretty sweet 'cause that's a looong way down!
