Here's the Press Release:

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 19, 2008 â€" Honda today revealed the Honda FC Sport design study model, a hydrogen-powered, three-seat sports car concept, at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The FC Sport emphasizes the design flexibility and potential of Honda's V Flow fuel cell technology â€" already deployed in the Honda FCX Clarity sedan â€" and reconfigures it into a lightweight sports car design with an ultra-low center of gravity, powerful electric motor performance and zero-emissions. The design study concept is inspired by supercar levels of performance through low weight and a high-performance, electrically driven fuel cell powertrain.
“The Honda FC Sport explores how to satisfy automotive performance enthusiasts in a world beyond petroleum,” said Dan Bonawitz, vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “People who love sports cars will still have a reason to love in a hydrogen-powered future.”
The high-output Honda fuel cell powertrain and a sleek, aerodynamic body contribute to the vehicle's performance potential. A modular approach to fuel cell component packaging and the electric drivetrain contribute to the FC Sport's low center of gravity with the majority of vehicle mass distributed between the axles, creating the balanced weight distribution sought after in sports cars

Here's a better shot of the rear - clearly designed with aerodynamics in mind:

Here you can see the location of the Hydrogen tanks - perhaps the rear is designed to protect them?

From the back, that car looks like it's crowning.  That car is... kinda gross, actually.

The front kinda reminds me of this fella:

Sporty looks are one thing, will a production version of something like this back up the "sporty" claim with relatively light weight, good handling and at least brisk if not outright fast acceleration.

From the front I thought, "That could be cool..,"  [thumbsup] but then from the back I thought "is that a prolapsed anus?"  [puke]

I'll pass.

I was thinking something similar.....

[laugh]
I solve my problems like an adult, at the strip club drinking on a work night.

NAKID

Backend is hideous. Other than that, the car looks pretty decent. Cockpit is straight out out the McLaren F1....

I'll stick that in the garage next to the Cadillac V16, the Mazda Furai, the Mercedes Carver, and the Toyota i-Real. Because those were all built and put on sale, just like this one will be.

Or we can hook up a really long pipeline to the sun and harvest some naturally occurring hydrogen from there.  [cheeky]

Popeye the Sailor

Foreign car makers are terribly good at creating things like this and actually having the technology filter to their other cars. They're also good at starting technology early.

Look at the hybrids-they are popular, and they were being designed, built, and sold prior to their being much demand. This is the wise way to go-the technology will improve over time, and people would like to buy something like that once it becomes feasible.

Meanwhile detroit will ask for money until people buy a bunch of big trucks again. Lame.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.
