The 10th Annual Excuse Me Darlin Chili Cook Off
February 1st, 2009...put it on the calendar and git yer Chili on

I have hosted an annual chili cookoff at my house for the past 9 years. It takes place on SuperBowl Sunday each year. It's an 'open' format. We do adhere to CASI rules with one exception, you can cook your pot at home and warm it at the house. Most years we have between 5 to 10 entries with prizes (that I provide) given out for 1st through 3rd place. I personally have only won one time. I will select a panel of impartial judges who do not cook for the event to judge. Again this year I will try to sheild them from bribes. Usually there are between 10 to 40 people at the house. We have a fire in the fireplace and one out on the patio in the chiminea by the pool and the Tiki Bar. There is plenty of places for motorcycle parking but it's rather hard to carry a pot of chili on the back of your bike unless your Wallace and Grommit. It's BYOB too.

So, if any of you DFWMers have a special recipe and want to showcase it nows the time to start planning. More info to follow.

That would be two b-days that day we celebrate. Sorry you'll miss out, but you got to do what you got to do.

Would that be because the average fan is busy eating hot dogs and drinking beer.  drink  popcorn  laughingdp
