In 2004 they changed the engine displacement and lowered the rpms limit from 9k to 8200k. This makes it more freindly to drive on the street and on the track its still a beast.  [thumbsup]

They also updated the body work here and there.

Just be forewarned - many track day events do not allow convertibles.  Unless you get the club racer version of the S2000 or install some roll protection, you may not be able to run it at a club event / track day.

That said, the S2000 is sweet, and you'd have a lot of fun with it anyway... [thumbsup]

They like to run around 100 on I-5.  But I guess I do, too....

I'm sure you know how cramped it is, and how you have absolutely no trunk space.  But the pure joy you get from zipping around in that track car makes it well worth it.

they do feel cramped and lacking in cargo space until you get out and put one foot into an Elise talk about cramped  [bang]... but the s2000 is a sweet car have fun with it  [thumbsup]

I have an 04 w/ 35 k on it. Previous owner had an extended warranty on it (the fool drove it 9200 miles in 3 yrs, then sold it to me for straight KBB value). I figured I'd never need the warranty, but the car's currently in the shop due to loss of compression in cylinders 1 and 2. First they tried to tell me I overreved it (what? not me! [evil]), but when I argued that a performance car that can't be reved is useless, the warranty people paid up. Saving me about $1500. Bastards initially said they might have to change the whole engine block ( [bang]), but all they found was 2 bent exhaust valves. The dealer states this should only happen if the valves are adjusted too tight, but to my knowledge, I've never had the valves adjusted. My usual shift point around town is 4500-5000 FWIW (me like VTEC).
The only other word of caution is it's got snap oversteer at the limit- not much warning that traction's breaking, but recovers very easily. I definitely reccomend the car. Enjoy!
