Haggling?

Everyone wants the cheapest price, right? I think I remember hearing/reading that TV prices at Best Buy aren't necessarily set in stone. Any validity in this? Are any other stores willing to flex on their sticker price?

Sure, I can almost always get it a little cheaper online but I like to buy things in person once in a while.

edit: fine fine, haggling, not bartering... [roll]

How disappointing.

I really hoped to read about someone trying to barter for an ipod with 2 chickens and a goat.

Mark it zero, next frame.

You can definately negotiate price at Best Buy. Recently a buddy of mine got a TV surround package, the price was so low the computer /register wouldn't accept it without a Mgr. when she came over, she was like WTF. Too late, they had to let it go for the salesmans price. He saved over $1k.    [thumbsup]

Hmmm.... Sounds promising. I wanna get a Samsung PN50A550 and I'd rather get one in person than mail order. I could get one from Newegg for $1510 shipped after tax.  [thumbsup] Let's see if I can get BestBuy to at least match that price. Website lists it as $1900 before tax and shipping.  :o Even at the one of the Circuit City stores that is closing they only went as low as $1560 for a display model.  [roll]

Anyone know if anywhere else is open to haggling?

I know for a fact best buy does, we bought our TV and asked for 200 off the sale price, they came down 150.

Think I could get Best Buy to sell me a Samsung PN50A550 for $1400 OTD?  [cheeky] It's listed at $2k before sale, $1800 sale price. I can get it $1510 after tax and free shipping from New egg.  [roll]

You just have to try.  Go in, and explain the facts, that you're on the fence, and you're ready to buy now.  But be ready to back it up with following it through, if they came down that much.
