Riding today, wanted to qualify for those 'I survived the summer of 2011' t-shirts.  I have 5 stoplights on the way home, and  the seat temperature on my bike climbs 10 degrees at each one (starting from the 100 deg ambient)  Sad   reminds me of a christmas tune...

NTTA Temp sensors say road surface high temps reach between 138 - 142 F.  Little too hot for my taste.  Even a small accident or mechanical issue on the road could put a rider in real jeopardy of a serious heat related incident.  Careful out there!

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Glad to hear you're back in the saddle, Tres.  Grin

I just got back from a ride down to West, TX for some kolaches with a buddy who rides a HD. I ditto the sauna comment from above, especially during the ride back North late afternoon. But it felt SOOOO GOOOOOOD to ride again outside of my hood.  Smiley
