As a new rider, I thought it best to enrol in an additional skills course (to what I learn on DMF of course!)  [moto]

the Stay Upright Advanced I Skills course seems to come highly recommended, thus I'm looking at booking myself into this. If anyone else wants to come along then they are more than welcome and here I am trying to gauge interest in getting a group to go (and possibly getting a group discount).

I heard that a group of DMF ppl have already attended back in the middle of '08 so I know you guys probably won't want to do the same course again, but I'm sure you guys could vouch for this one.

ok couple of details:

price - $390
location - Oran Park raceway (Narellan, kinda near Minto)
probs best to bring your own bike so you can get to know it a little better, but I think hire bikes are available
course aims for "Physical development including posture, obstacle avoidance, braking and cornering - all designed to enhance your safety and riding pleasure"

DATES:
February 23rd (Monday)
March 30th (Monday)
there are a couple of dates between those two and now but for me (and I'm sure a couple of other people) I'd rather let the credit card recover from a bit of the christmas season.

any interest? waytogo

There was a few of us that did that this year and you rode with most of them today.
It's a good course and gives you a great idea of your bike and skills.

The track is at Cobbity which is near Narellan/Camden.
Not sure when it's going to close but it will be shut later next year.

You will enjoy it when you go do it.

Hi bmroxm5 , shame you posted this up now as I am booked in for the same course next week on the 12th , I would of liked to do it with another Monster rider.
I am going to keep an eye on the weather and if it looks like rain(at this stage long range forecast is showers) I will postpone , maybe I can re book for the same date as yourself if you would like some company.
I will PM you with my mobile  number if I change dates if you are interested.

ooh right o, yeh i saw that they had a course on the 12th but i felt like i should get a bit more road experience to help give the training some perspective.
but if it rains, then maybe we can organise either the feb23rd one or mar30th one in the new year.

Did the course last year too, at Mt. Cotton near Brisbane, highly recommended, I wouldn't let a bit of rain put you off, in fact you will probably learn more, after all it does also rain outside in the real world, so it would help your riding techniques in all conditions.

Hay bmroxm5 , I have just changed my booking date to 23 Feb as it is a Monday and is easier on my work to get that day off , being a Chef Fr/Sat/Sun are the pointy end of the business .
So if you are interested in riding with another Monster book for that date and any others that may be considering going to make a "Monster advanced riders course picnic day".

That's my girl Elle.  Cheesy

Actually, I was at Borders at Bondi Junction one Saturday and I was just looking at some books and I just sort of turned my head and she was standing right next to me, she was maybe half a head taller than me, skin tight jeans on  Shocked, tight white t shirt  Shocked Shocked with her hair lookin like she just got out of bed  Cheesy. I couldn't help myself and ran away, giggling & jumping up & down like a school girl to my now wife, "That's ELLE! That's ELLE!" "Where? Where?"  "Fecken THERE!!!!!"
My wife just stood and stared and exclaimed "OMG!"

I'm an idiot. I know.  Tongue
