He'll choke. CC is overrated...although he did have a good season with the Brewers this year after beging traded. Keep in mind...that is the national League though where it is easier to pitch. Now he's back in the American League with the DH. I'd love to see his career ERA vs. the Red Sox.

Also...7 years @ 130 Million, right? Give me a break!  :o

IIRC it's like 3.65 which is still pretty good.

This is just another case of the Yankees trying to buy a championship. I hate the Yankees simply because I'm a Red Sox fan. And although that should be enough, I also hate them because of the way they do business.

I can remember when they won all those championships in the late 90's. I hated them then too but it was more because of jealousy because they won all the time. But at least back then I had respect for them. They won with alot of home grown talent like Orlando Hernandez, Ramiro Mendoza, Andy Pettitte, Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Alfonso Soriano, and Jorge Posada. It's funny even Joe Girardi was on that team. there were others too but I just can't think of them right now.

The Red Sox are more like that now. Look at all the home grown talent they have on thier team. How can you not respect a team that builds the core group of players from within their system.
I've been wallowing in my own chaotic and insecure delusions.

That would be pretty good. I can't believe I can't find his stats vs. specific teams on the net.   ???

I still say he's overrated though...I guess we'll see.

I'm with ya on the Yankees. I hate the Red Sux too though...go A's.  ;D

Yep.  And I'm not even a diehard Boston fan.  You either like the Yankees or you don't.

And if you become a Yankees fan (i.e. you weren't born a fan or been a fan for 20+ years) then you need psychological help.

The Yankees had respectable teams in the mid to late nineties, especially the superstarless 1998 team with 114 wins.

But since then, it has been a make the beast with two backsing joke.  We don't want to win a championship anymore, we'll just buy one.  And if that doesn't work, then we'll fire our coach.  The coach who the Yankees watched in the post season this year.   [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

nice job by the yankees in bidding against themselves...  looks like a waste of money on a guy who can't even dedicate himself to getting physically fit...  fat slob is bound for the DL this year after getting the equally fat contract
