I received the recent Ducati.com.au e-zine with the news of this event:

The new Ducati Monster 1100 will be unleashed to the media and to the public at the same time in February 2009. Mark your calendar now for the Monster Beach Party at Elouera Beach near Cronulla Saturday the 7th of February from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Mix Australian Summer, the ideal summer motorcycle and a Guiness Book of World Record Attempt of the greatest Monster gathering and you have a Saturday to be remembered for life, not just the year.

New or old motorcylcists of all brands are welcome to the Monster Beach party for a fun day out with the family. Specifically, Monster owners should register online to participate in the World Record attempt and ensure that your fun is enhanced with the Monster Beach Bag. Check ducati.com.au for registration details soon.

The Ducati Monster broke the Guinness Book "Largest Parade of Motorcycles of the Same Brand and Type" Record earlier this year. On 21 September Northern Europe broke this record with 405 Ducati Monsters showing up for their event. Let’s show the world why the Ducati Monster is the most owned Ducati world wide.

Get on your Ducati and get to the beach. Saturday February 7th will include a limbo competition, volleyball, activities for older and younger kids and much, much more. Your essential beach day is covered in Ducati red. Remember to bring towels and swimmers. Cloaking facilities for helmets and jackets will be provided.

Unleash the Monster in you at the first Ducati Monster Beach Party 2009.

Sounds interesting...

I was intrigued by their choice of venue  Shocked

Have a workmate who is a 'shire boy' and bleeds harley davidson. Has been known to say things about most motorcycle manufacturers ... "and which side were they on during the war".

Yeah, I hear that all the time.  Roll Eyes

As for the choice of venue, Norton St Leichhardt would have been a good (better?) choice, maybe blocking part of it off, would cost a lot of $ to do though & a logistical nightmare. Even Homebush Bay.

And I probably won't be the only one, if I attend, that won't go for a swim. I can't imagine anything worse than riding a motorbike home with sand in your arse crack and chafing the nut sack.  Angry

You mean you get showers in Sydney?

You think that's water restrictions? I'll show ya water restrictions!

They took all the showers off our beaches years ago.
