I think that the rash of 1098 sales is due to people not being able to afford the payments.

Could be people wanting to move to the 1198

So, back on topic, whatever model you decide on, I would def go at least an S model. A good suspension & proper setup is IMHO critical for serious riding.

With the proper spring, it improves even the low to medium speed ride.

I'm thinking of getting a cheaper/smaller track bike.  I-4 600cc or a 2-stroke 50-125 cc seems to be the ticket

I can't use up the 848 yet... yet
