When you get it on, do you mind posting pic's?  I've been thinking about getting one myself, but wasn't sure as I've not seen how it makes the bike look.

I wouldn't mind at all.

That's a cool, uncommon 696 part.  You might consider moving this thread to the "Accessories & Mods" forum.

Could we get a pic of the whole bike with it on?

Would it be better if i did a new thread titled something like "696 DP Windscreen pics" in the Accessories & Mods forum. Not sure if that would be better because it would be a more accurate description and easier to find, or worse because that would just mean duplicate pics and a redundant thread.

Could we get a pic of the whole bike with it on?
For sure. I'll try to get one tomorrow.

Um, it was whitish. It wasn't a solid white, it was more of a frosted white. It seems like they were transparent plexiglass and they sandblasted the inside to make it translucent. The outside is still shiny. You can kinda see on the pic from the riders perspective how it looks frosted on the inside. It makes me want to wipe it down with a wet cloth to get the powder off it.

There are two below. If you want more pics, let me know.

i can't tell but is it bigger than the bikini fairing? does it offer more wind protection?
It is taller by about an inch or so and directs the wind more upward, and it is also more narrow. With the new one it feels like there is no wind on my chest, at all. BUT it also seems like there is more wind hitting my arms. I'm not sure if it is because the new one is narrower or it's just the lack of wind on the chest makes it more noticeable on the arms. It has been about three weeks since I've gone for a ride with the old one, so I'm not sure how good I can compare the two. I've included some pics with the original windscreen held up to about where it would have been.

Too bad it isn't flat black, I might have to paint it.

IMO - yes, flat black - now, it's neither clear or dark.

About your question above: You can change the name of the thread to make it easier to find, since you want to assist others who might be looking for the same mod.

Thanks for the pics! Please update us about your future ride impressions. I'm in the market to get something to reduce the amount of wind on my chest.

Did you mean that your DP LED blinkers don't work?  I've had some experience with these and you probably just need to reverse the wires - black to red, red to black going into the resistor harness.  OR... the connectors on the signal itself may be the problem.  If you're good with a solder gun, pull them apart and solder the wire into the connector - the crimp job they've done bites into the wire sheathing, but doesn't allow the actual wire to make contact with the connector.  Roll Eyes

And if you weren't talking about those... nevermind.

Yeah, those are the ones. Thank you for chiming in!  waytogo

The first set worked fine, this last set turned it into a PITA. I thought the same thing as you. It doesn't look like they stripped the wire going into the connector, so it probably isn't making contact. The first set had the wires stripped, but I ripped off two connecters while trying to unplug them. The mechanics didn't seem to believe me when I told them the blinkers didn't work, and told me that I may have voided the warranty by trying to install them myself. I think what saved me was that the other set they had in stock didn't work either. They said they ordered some new ones for me to switch out. If the next set does not work I'll just figure it out and fix it myself.

While I was trouble shooting the new set, 2 connectors (mentioned above) and a solder joint (one of the wires going into the blinker) on the first set broke off.  Angry Definitely not the best quality electronics. I soldered on longer wires so it would reach the rear connections better. I said screw it while I was in there and bypassed the resistor in the blinkers so now they are nice and bright too (much better with my tinted lens covers). I'm hoping that it wont burn them out too quickly.  Undecided
