Bacon gadget for you

Can someone tell me what the idea is with "bacon"?
I know the food part, but why is it otherwise such a treat?
It must be a good thing, since so many people use it in a positive way.....

Bacon is good, but not everything good must be bacon.

Something that is good can be made better by adding/making it out of bacon.

Cheeseburger = good

Bacon cheeseburger = better

Its not quite universal, tho.

Root beer float = good

Root beer float + bacon = Meh. Only okay.
