I did a FAQ for a Trackday Checklist.  Anything to add/subtract to the basic list of stuff to bring?  I'll add some of the basic mechanical checklist stuff later.

'basic' list is pretty complete.  i won't even touch the overkill list...  =)

i carry a small rechargeable air compressor.  (high quality) pressure gauge is all important but often you need air too.. usually a compressor at the tire guy's station (assuming there is one) but that's a pain in the butt.

extension cord and power strip (if applicable).  it's nice to not have to sit there and talk over the generator all day.

depending on where you are, jacket, hat, gloves.  spring and fall days in the desert can start off surprisingly cold.

iPod shuffle.  but that's just me... most ppl don't seem to dig that idea and go the boring old earplugs route.

As a suggestion, a note to write down what you wish you had, *while* you're at the track.
You forget by the time you get home, then swear like a sailor at the next trackday when you don't have that 'thing' again.

I'd consider the spider monkey as part of the 'tools'.

Oops, forgot.  I have a total loss system on my r6.  It's a PITA.  I either have to switch out batteries at lunchtime or run a battery charger when the tire warmers are on.

I would include a change of underwear in case you should suffer an uncontrolled bowel movement while chasing that extra second.

Spidey, I would add to the basic list: Windex to clean your visor. I would also recommend buying a quality mouthguard. The kind that you can shape to your teeth. This reduces concussions, eliminates that horrible cotton mouth that you get from high speeds, and makes you more comfortable while riding. It really works to reduce concussions, that's why some sports require them.

That's a good basic trackday list. I'm not even going to bother reading your other list because I have my own that I print before each race weekend and check off as I load the trailer. Speedog is right, bring a notepad because everyone will modify that list to suit their own needs. Example...the track you go to may not have a garage to rent or concrete to pit on, so you would want to add either a piece of plywood, or a big carpet square to your list.

there is a company also out there that makes a softer closed cell foam version of this kind of flooring tile squares for childrens play areas in varying colors that some people have used also....bright or different colors to cooordinate and or identify easily with your pit area...nice thing with these is they are easy to pick up and lay out...they easily hose off for any chemicals or other stuff spilled on them....and they don't take a whole lot of room in your trailer for carrying to and from....I think Sears carries a faux diamond plate plastic modular flooring that does a similar thing also...

i'd add two things to the basic list.  lunch and beer (for after the track shuts down). 

i usually bring two keys just in case and keep them either in the bike, the truck's center console or in a tool box.

also bring any spare parts you might have (levers, rearsets, etc).  it's kind of like carrying an umbrella around all day and guarantees that you won't need them.

try not to use abrasives or solvents on your faceshield. water alone will often work just fine.

best and cheapest thing I have ever used on my face shield was Endust(usually in a pinch)...Pledge does the same thing with a nice lemony scent that might overpower the head sweat funk smell....but it makes for a nice wax layer that keeps high speed pebbles from chipping/scratching the visor and makes bugs wipe off in an instant....personally though, I use Plexus...

ever do a day in extreme heat?  I'm sure we all have.  Bring a fan.  I saw a guy with one and thought it was a great idea.

Absolutely.     I had "fan" under Electrics on the Overkill list, but moved it to the Pit Area section.  Those big floor fans are the best.  Actually, the best is an air conditioned fun mover/motorhome.
