Cycle Gear sent out an e-mail this week about their after-Christmas clearance.

40% off all Dainese apparel (amongst other brands)

25%-40% off all helmets

Casual apparel Buy 1 Get 1 Free

Sale is on 12/26/08-1/1/09

Dano is going to see if they've still got a Dainese Laguna Seca suit in his size.   Grin  Forty percent off!  That's $600 for a thousand-dollar suit!  That's still a lot of money, but I've gotta take advantage of this deal.

Anyway, just thought I'd let y'all know, in case some of you aren't already on their e-mail list.  waytogo

Does that include anything online through cyclegear or just the one cyclegear location in SE portland?

Just bought me some $500 leather pants for $300 to zip into my jacket and while i was at it i bought the dainese torque out air boots for $180.  I am now completely set up with high quality gear for next year.  Full leather and good boots make you faster, or at least it feels that way.  Thanks to bibleboy for posting about the sale.

Weren't you busy buying assault weapons and paying off credit cards?  Wink

Yes.  Wink  Don't forget handguns, as well.  Did I tell y'all that I had bought a new SIG P232?  It looks like a slightly-bigger version of James Bond's Walther PPK (I needed something for "deep concealment" and the PPK is too small for my mitts).

Anyway, I didn't spend as much on gun stuff as I thought I would, I needed the suit, and $400 off a Dainese suit was too good to pass up.  I now have a black w/white lettering Dainese Laguna Seca suit hanging in my closet.  Can't wait to wear it on the bike! (though I hope I never have to test it)

Oh well, it'll just take me another 2-3 months to pay off the credit card (the only one I have a balance on, thankfully... everything else is paid in full every month).  That additional $600 won't accrue anywhere close to $400 in interest in the time it'll take me to pay for it, so I think it was worthwhile.

Of course, I'm putting of further work on the track CBR until toxic debt is gone, so the suit will be used on the Duc at the occasional Taste of Racing for the time being.  I just hope I don't wreck it...  Shocked

Sorry Dave, I didn't get back on here sooner... the price break was just in-store.  Oh yeah, their parking lot SUCKED last Friday. bang head  Got stuck... thank God I keep a folding military-style shovel in the trunk during winter for just such an occasion.  Had to dig myself out once or twice in Iowa.  Wink

Ug i wish i had more patience once i get money.....

I got $50 from my father in law for christmas. I couldnt wait to spend it so that night i went to newenough.com and got a pair of polar fleece glove liners and a silver reflective shield for my helmet.  At least my hands will be warm, and ill be all silvery shiny next time i ride.

I dunno, you'd have to check their website or call 'em.  They are supposedly having sales and a bunch of stuff on clearance through January, but the last significant markdowns I saw were the Friday after Christmas, and then again on New Year's Day.
